We believe that God loves all of creation, and through Jesus Christ we are brought into fellowship with God. We are a family, proclaiming the love and grace of God, as found in God's Word. All are welcome at Jerusalem First Missionary Baptist Church - those who believe as well as those who are seeking.
We reach out with the heart of ministry to care for our neighbors in the name of Jesus Christ. We have the joy of Jesus when we fellowship with each other and our neighbors. As we work and worship together we find that our faith grows as we enjoy friends old and new. John 13:34-35 "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

Rev. Dr. John R. Davenport
Pastor
John R. Davenport was given the vision to start Jerusalem First Missionary Baptist Church in July, 2020.
He was born and raised in Aiken, South Carolina to the late Pastor Roosevelt Davenport, Sr. and the late Dorothy L. Davenport. He was educated at Aiken High School in Aiken, SC., and also attended The Atlanta Business College.
The attributes that best describe John R. Davenport as the Pastor are strong preaching, leadership development and counseling. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like Jerusalem First Missionary Baptist Church where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ. John R. Davenport takes worship and preaching very seriously, spending time in God's word daily.
In addition to preaching, Pastor Davenport has a love and passion for gospel music and shows his love through singing and playing several musical instruments. Quartet singing has been a major part of his music.
He graduated from Philadelphia Bible College and Seminary in 2013 with a degree in Theology (Doctorate).
John R. Davenport has been happily married for 21 years to his wife, Bernadette Davenport. They have 3 children and 5 grandchildren:
